Registry for Institutions
According to article 9 of the 117/89 Law and amendment 11(I)/2018, the Committee for the Protection of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities maintains a registry of institutions, associations, services and other organizations that deal with matters which concern persons with intellectual disabilities. The registry holds information regarding the type of services provided, demographic data, as well as information about the staff and budget of the relevant organizations. This pool of information helps with requests from organizations and the public and also aids in shaping opinions in policy matters, such as state funding and the quality of the services provided.
According to the above article, the Associations and Institutions Governor or any other relevant authority should not allow the enactment of new Associations /Institutions which concern persons with intellectual disabilities, if they have not first registered with the Committee.
